Two composers—working centuries apart—come together in Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis. The “theme” in the title is a tune composed by Renaissance composer Thomas Tallis for Archbishop Matthew Parker’s Psalter to which a versification of Psalm 2 is set.

WRTI’s Susan Lewis has the story about what became one of Vaughn Williams' most successful orchestral works.

Thomas Tallis (c. 1505 – 23 November 1585) was an English composer who occupies a primary place in anthologies of English choral music. He is considered one of England's greatest composers, and he is honoured for his original voice in English musicianship.
